November - Thomas points out a news story from a small town just outside Sandnes. The town's football team managed, against all the odds, to escape relegation and NRK TV news was on hand to film the reactions. They focussed in on a fan — a local farmer and borough council member — who quickly took advantage of this to send a message to his wife: "You do the milking: I'm going to the pub". You can see the news clip here.
November - Administrative note - due to adjustments to the server over the next couple of days there might be temporary teething troubles on this site and on emails ending in rishton.info. Please bear with us! I've fixed a few things, but there's sure to be more! If you've nothing better to do, you're welcome to dip into back issues of the blog and let me know if there is any content missing - any photos that don't come up or whatever.
November - Heading west -
Tracy is in Hong Kong and about to leave for London, then Stavanger.
pm - Now safely home!
November - Two weeks without news. I'm sorry — we've been so snowed under (with work, that is — we can see snow on the mountains but not so much down here by the house) that there's not been time to think about writing anything. Temperatures are -4 and sinking fast (forecasted -8 Sunday) and the ski centre has started to put down a basis of artificial snow, which suggests that the real stuff is coming very soon. (Apparently, artificial snow — though no great shakes to ski on — forms the best and most stable bottom layer for the real snow to lie on top of).
