Well done Katie on winning all those medals! All the best to Tracy on returning to Cambodia. Your tunnel arrangements are too complicated for me to follow!

Tracy welcome home! Tim I have just posted a book to you which I hope will hit you sense of humour!! Heaven alone knows when it will get to you with your tunnel etc !!!

Thank you Joanna - I'll really look forward to it. Amazon talks about making deliveries using drones: perhaps that's the way to go at the moment. Come to think of it, I could use one myself!

Book has arrived and we're all enjoying it enormously - including Fudge! Thank you very much, Joanna!

5 November - Thomas points out a news story from a small town just outside Sandnes. The town's football team managed, against all the odds, to escape relegation and NRK TV news was on hand to film the reactions. They focussed in on a fan — a local farmer and borough council member — who quickly took advantage of this to send a message to his wife: "You do the milking: I'm going to the pub". You can see the news clip here.

6 November - Administrative note - due to adjustments to the server over the next couple of days there might be temporary teething troubles on this site and on emails ending in rishton.info. Please bear with us! I've fixed a few things, but there's sure to be more! If you've nothing better to do, you're welcome to dip into back issues of the blog and let me know if there is any content missing - any photos that don't come up or whatever.

7 November - Heading west - Tracy is in Hong Kong and about to leave for London, then Stavanger.
8pm - Now safely home!

20 November - Two weeks without news. I'm sorry — we've been so snowed under (with work, that is — we can see snow on the mountains but not so much down here by the house) that there's not been time to think about writing anything. Temperatures are -4 and sinking fast (forecasted -8 Sunday) and the ski centre has started to put down a basis of artificial snow, which suggests that the real stuff is coming very soon. (Apparently, artificial snow — though no great shakes to ski on — forms the best and most stable bottom layer for the real snow to lie on top of).

Hi there have you had snow? Weather forecasts here seemed to indicate it!!
Jon - November 21st, 2015
Glad you're all still OK. Was beginning to wonder if your internet is connected via the tunnel! If you had to time your travel to fit the tunnel schedule, you would be miss internet access window. Hope you get some actual snow soon: there's just an outside chance of skiing here tommorow. Happy birthday Thomas Andrew.

21 November - 21st on 21st - Happy 21st birthday to Thomas Andrew today! Help yourself to a piece of scrumptious birthday triple-chocolate cheesecake (right).

OK. So, triple chocolate cheese cake. Presumably the recipe calls for chocolate biscuits in the base, decoration with chocolate 'icing', but the chocolate cheese? Is that made from chocolate milk, from a secret farm in Ørsdalen, known only to Thomas Andrew?
Tim - November 23rd, 2015
This article is a description of Thomas Andrew's special Ørsdalen research project. For sweet-toothed horse lovers he's now working on a real strawberry roan.
Tracy - November 23rd, 2015
The biscuit base was cocoa powder, butter and normal digestive biscuits. I cheated with the top and used chocolate ice cream syrup. It was yummy, intend to make one for my next birthday too. Everyone welcome to come along and have a piece on the day.

29 November - morning service - Here you can listen to this morning's service from Sandnes Church:

We've waved goodbye to the sun for the remainder of the year and look forward to seeing it back as soon as possible in 2016.
