The lake: but where has the beach gone?
Not only is the pier under water; the lake now covers the adjoining field.
We had a rowing boat safely pulled up onto the beach.
Even the road bridge looks as though it could be under threat if the water rises much more.
And as for the foot bridge ...
The little stream by the tunnel
Outside Ørsdalen things are no better. This was the E39 (main west-coast road) near Egersund on Saturday.
By Sunday the water had risen another 4 feet and the road is now closed to all traffic.
